Auction of Promises 17th May 2019
This was one of the fabulous lots bid for at the Auctin of Promises. Turned by the talented Dave Culllingford, this beautiful bowl and four fruits sparked a flurry of bids in the cosing stages of the auction.
Litter Pick 2018
Having been rescheduled from 3rd March 2018 to accommodate the ‘Beast from the East’, a stalwart group of hardy villagers gathered at the village hall on Saturday 17th March to brave the icy wind and snow flurries in a valiant effort to complete the annual litter pick.
Once again, a surprising amount of discarded plastic, car parts, bottles, footwear and crockery were recovered from the hedgerows and ditches around the village, so a very worthwhile exercise!
The workers were rewarded with warm drinks and delicious home bakes at the village hall, before trudging home to thaw out!
Thank you to everyone who took part. Let’s hope for warmer weather and sunshine next year!

Annual Village Spring Clean
The Parish Council would like to thank everyone that took part in our annual spring clean.
Once again, several bags of litter and rubbish were retrieved from the hedges and ditches around the village, which is now back to looking it’s best for summer. Well done, everyone
Commemorative Plaque
An inscribed plaque has been erected in the playing fields adjacent to the Diamond Jubilee memorial oak tree. The plaque commemorates The Queens Diamond Jubilee and the planting of the tree by Margaret Elliott.
Italian Night
Caddy and Chris recently put on a fantastic Italian Night to raise funds for Village amenities. It was a lovely evening attended by about 60 people. We were treated to delicious home made pizza and a very drinkable Italian red wine. The food and drink was accompanied by a great atmosphere and a glorious early summer evening. A big thank you to Caddy, Chris, their children and many helpers for making the event such a success.
